Arun Parmar

"Hi friends, I am Arun Parmar and I come from a small village in the state of Gujarat. I spent most of my childhood in this small village, where I have lots of fond memories. Now, though, I live in Delhi.

"As you all might be aware, Gujarat is famous for its legendary patchwork art. I grew up around this mesmerizing art form, more so because my parents were already involved in patchwork as we had a workshop at home.

"I've always been enamored with the rich patches of color that come together and form a kaleidoscope of vibrant artistry! Each piece is unique in and of itself, as patches cannot be replicated.

"We move to Delhi in the late eighties because my parents thought there would be more opportunities for us there. We kept our workshop at home, as it offered employment to many artisans, and my father frequently traveled to and from to keep an eye on things.

"I've always had a great sense of design, and I've always helped my parents by designing and combining different patches to create a complete piece. As I grew up, I became more involved, helping my parents in their work. Now, I have replaced my father in making the trips to our village. It's a beautiful experience each day.

"We have been promoting our products in local markets and exhibitions so far, and we have received a lot of appreciation for our work. I would like now to promote our unique art around the world, and this is possible through Novica."
